Now to the questions. All of them are made to be links, so by clicking on a question, you will automatically be moved to the answer.
What is Werbeka NETSHOP?
Werbeka is a small organization for international cultural exchange. This makes it possible to maintain a personal style in this site, not only concerning "home made" material in the library and the gallery, but also with regard to opinions in other texts, etc. But, looking at the growing numbers of visitors, this concept seems to work. We are represented in Västerås and Stockholm in Sweden and in Vienna, Austria. You can learn more about Västerås in the NETSHOP.

Where shall I place my bookmark?
Many visitors choose to bookmark our entrance-page, but if you do, you should remember to click the reload-button, in order to get a fresh page. At the bottom of it there are the last 5 updates, showing you the new features in the NETSHOP.

What can I do in the NETSHOP?
Mainly, we want you to relax and to enjoy your stay. Why not start off on our feedbackpage? You are also welcome to contribute there. Have a look into one of our newspapers in the library, to see what's happening in the world. And there is more interesting reading there. Take then a stroll down, to the pages on Västerås and check who has got homepages here, or enter the business alley - maybe you get an idea of what to give your aunt on her birthday... In the gallery you might find the right backgroundtile for your own homepage.
Got thirsty of all this? Have a beer in the Netrestaurant - it is on the house! Talking about beer - have you seen the latest soccer-results? Well, you can get the tables from all over the world on our site - just don't forget to come back, because you did want to plan your next trip abroad as well, didn't you? On our links-page you find a currency-converter as well as timetables....
But it depends on your own interests of course, there are lots of other possibilities - just enjoy!

Why don't you use frames?
We certainly shall use frames, when there is a need for them. (If you search thoroughly, you can find some frames nowadays.) But we probably won't use animated gifs at any time, no matter how "cute" they may be. We try to give information as efficiently as possible. Splitting up the vision (frames) and any movement or blinking (gifs) will cause less attention from the reader.
This is not an animosity against new means, we just don't think that we must make everything so trendy. We are more proud of a good background (e.g. our startpage in Västerås or the entrance to Gallery Venus), than we could be of any blinking thing, which anyhow probably would be stolen. Generally speaking we prefer content to show-off.

How do you develop your site?
"History" has shown, that it isn't any problem to find new material, which easily can be integrated into what is there already. We have got plenty of new stuff, so there will be new features in days to come. Let us mention here, that we gladly accept other person's works for an exhibition in the NETSHOP.

Why three languages?
The Web is international, and there are a couple of hundred languages spoken throughout the world. If we could, we would like to give you the NETSHOP in all of these languages.... We look upon that as part of the service to our visitors, and of course as means of opening our place to a broader public. Limited by knowledge, we cannot do better than the three languages we use, in which we can communicate rather fluently. Please note, that the contents are almost similar in all three languages, but that there are exceptions - we can't translate everything in our library, where we just stick to the original.

What is your opinion about advertising?
We know that there is some opinion against advertising on the Web, but we really don't see the point. It is through advertising that you can get a lot of free stuff as well. We doubt if it would be possible to have the manifoldness and quality of the Web today, if everything had to depend on personal initiatives. And we disagree totally concerning the point of advertisements taking your loading time and your money. Even when the Internet was in the hands of the universities only, it was not "free" to the user, but payed through taxes. We don't think that your cost, loading ads, is bigger than the gains commercialism gives back to you. And even if we are conscious of the great value that the contributions of university sites stand for, we think that advertisers bring another, but not less important part onto the Web.

How do you look upon copyright?
There is only one way to look upon copyright. Every creation, be it in form of written material, images, or whatever, is property of the author, unless explicitly given free for others to use. Exceptions are only works, whose author has been dead for at least 70 years. (This must be valid for classical paintings as well, even if some museums, etc. don't agree.) In the NETSHOP there are only the "Background-tiles" and - on condition - the fractals, which are really free. Almost everything else is our own design as well - and we will happily give you the copyright for that, but we expect you to ask for it, so that we can keep track of where it is going. We cannot protect the material from being stolen, but we can take action if we find out.

What kind of links do you have and why?
We don't have any particular policy in favour or against any sort of links, but we consider if they are of interest to our visitors. Again it is mainly content and not so much appearance, that counts. You are very welcome with suggestions - we promise to have a look at them.
Go back to the questions
Do you check the links to see if they are working?
We try, but that doesn't mean we can check every week, and things are changing rapidly on the Web. We apologize if you encounter a link that is not working any more, or that has changed its URL - but don't hesitate to tell us - by doing so you'll also be helping others.
