ALPHABETICAL QUESTIONS ON CITIES OF THE WORLD

The questions below have two things in common: All are about cities in our world and all start with the letter given to the left of the question.
There are five levels of information to each city. Giving the right answer on the first level will give you 5 points, on the second four, and so on down to one. Don't frown on the leads, if they don't give you a direct clue, use them. All those years, when the first university was established, can give you a lot of help. I mean, if the year is 1542, it probably isn't a city in the Americas.... If the Japanese conquered a city, it probably isn't situated in Europe... Using this information together with the city's first letter, is good help on your way.
Guess! You may guess at 5 points already and change your answer later, as often as you wish. You'll get the number of points, on which you finally guessed right - without changing your mind once more afterwards, though.
An example: On the letter "S" you guess "Singapore" at 5 points, "San Francisco" at 4 points and "Stockholm" at 3 points. Then you hold on to this answer. If the right answer were "Stockholm", you'd get 3 points. If however, you guess "Salisbury" at 2 points or "Sydney" at 1 point, you can't count any points on this question, if the answer is "Stockholm", because it wasn't your last guess. And now, that you know, that none of the cities above ist the right one on the letter "S", your task is even easier.
There is no need to know all of them on the 5-point level, in order to reach a good result - a couple of cities are rather unknown.
In order to make it easier and to avoid scrolling, I'll repeat the leads from the higher levels, so that you at any stage will have the entire information possible.

All set? Good luck!
